OK, DOPE is proud to present Two Day Voice Over Intensive with Nicki Burke & Missy Cross. Join Nicki Burke and guest coach Missy Cross for a 2 day intensive that will dive deep into the world of voice acting. Nicki and Missy will go over the steps needed to enter the voice over industry as well as help you gather the tools to navigate it. Over the 2 days you will be coached on voice styles of narration,  animation and commercials.  You will also get to work as a pro audio engineer along with Nicki as she produces your very own polished recordings.

Nicki Burke

Nicki Burke is an international voice over actor, on camera actor and singer. She's have been working in the industry for over 15 years, developing a notable career in both Vancouver and Toronto, Canada.

Nicki's experience extends to over 200 commercials for TV, Internet, Radio and Theatre, including Axe, Walmart, Proctor and Gamble, L’Oreal, Heineken, Nestle, Kinder, Honda, McDonalds, Soda Stream and VW.  Her  Animation credits include but are  not limited to, a 40 episode run on Nickelodeons The Mysticons as Zarya Moonwolf. Stephanie and Tammy in The Ridonculous Race, Tigerbot in Rusty Rivets, and most recently the crafty villain Envy in Kingdom Force.  She has worked with Ubisoft on Far Cry New Dawn and Far Cry 5, Dead Rising 2 with Cap Com and League Of Legends with Riot Games. Nicki started coaching because she wanted to help people who were interested in getting into the industry but didnt know how, as well as for actors wanting to build on their skills and add some tools to their tool belt. Nicki has always believed that once you get to a certain level it is your responsibility to help those coming up behind you and pay it forward. She is so happy to get the opportunity to now do that!!

Missy Cross

Missy has been teaching the Mindful Actor Workshops since 2012 and worked as an instructor for "Embodied Voice," "Acting Fundamentals" and "Camera Technique" as well as directing the graduation films in the Vancouver Film School's Acting department.

Missy is an alumni of Canada's National Voice Intensive at UBC, studied with Black Nexxus, and the Lucid Body Method in New York City, which deepened her understanding of the Chakras in acting. I have also completed the Chakra Empowerment workshop series under the direction of Lisa Erickson.

I sing and play percussion in the touring band Wooden Horsemen, our 3 available on all platforms! I also often lend my voice for the incredible Steven Beddall’s solo projects.  Find more info about the Horsemen here!

Missy has been acting professionally since 2004 on stage, and in film and tv.  She also received a Leo Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress for She Who Must Burn, as well as 2 wins for Best Supporting Actress (The Film Corner 2015, Fright Night Film Festival 2016) and 2 nominations (NOLA Horror Film Festival 2016, BAFF).

She's also produced Performance Boutique and The House of Yes and with Secretly Women Productions, she's produced three acclaimed plays in Vancouver: Stop Kiss, 5 Women Wearing the Same Dress, and Eurydice - the latter of which she also directed.
